"Hi Fluttershy, and the short version is that this is the Dark world and not the normal colorful one, and that giant swirly thing near the mountain is probably to blame, or maybe it's the mountain, that was where Majora's Mask as waiting for the moon to fall, heh, that'd be funny, an evil mountain." Trick said, saving Twilight another explanation.

Eventually they got to the top of the mountain, where there wasn't a single thing.
